Google rich snippets
Rich snippets are the stars and review counts Google can show under a product in search results. Sofcy adds the data Google reads for this to your product pages, on every plan.
What Sofcy adds
On each product page with reviews, the Review widget adds structured data (JSON-LD) describing:
- the product, with its name and URL;
- its average rating and number of reviews;
- up to 20 of its reviews, with the author, date, title, text and rating.
It is added only on product pages, only when the product has at least one published review, and only where the Review widget block is placed.
Turn it on or off
Two switches, both on by default. Both must be on.
- In the app: Settings › Google and SEO, SEO Rich Snippets, Add review rich snippets to product pages.
- In the theme editor: the Review widget block's Add product aggregate rating JSON-LD.
If your theme or another app already adds review data, turn Sofcy's off. Two sets of ratings for one product confuse Google.
Check it
Paste a product URL into Google's Rich Results Test. You should see a Product with review snippets. Google decides whether and when to show stars, and it can take weeks after your pages are recrawled.
For reviews in Google Shopping ads and listings, see Google Shopping review feed.
