Import reviews
Already have reviews? Bring them over so your products do not start from zero. Go to Settings › Import reviews.
From another review app
Sofcy reads the CSV exports of these apps: Loox, Yotpo, Air Reviews, Klaviyo Reviews, Areviews, Trustoo.io, Stamped.io, Ali Reviews, Vitals, Ryviu, Shopify Product Reviews and Judge.me. For any other app, choose Other review app.
- In your old app, export your reviews as a CSV file.
- In Sofcy, click Import from apps and choose the app.
- Click Add files and pick the CSV.
- Leave I confirm my reviews are genuine and I have permission to import them ticked.
- Click Import. Sofcy reports how many reviews it imported.
The file needs a rating column, a review text column, and a product handle or Shopify product ID column. Sofcy recognises the usual column names. If one is missing, it tells you which.
From a spreadsheet
For reviews you collected yourself. Click Import from a spreadsheet to open Manual reviews import, which takes four steps.
- Upload file. Download CSV sample shows the format. Choose Product reviews or Store reviews, and upload.
- Map file columns. Match your columns to Rating and Review content (both required), and Review title, Reviewer name, Reviewer email, Review date and Reply. Set any to Don't import. Choose the date format, or leave it on Auto.
- Select product identifier. Tell Sofcy which column names the product: handle, Shopify product ID, title or URL.
- Map products. Check each value is matched to the right product, or choose Skip these reviews. Then click Import N reviews. The reviews are published straight away.
The sample columns are product_handle, rating, title, body, reviewer_name, reviewer_email, review_date, reply. Ratings are rounded to a whole star from 1 to 5. A blank name becomes Anonymous, and a blank date becomes today.
From another store that uses Sofcy
In the old store, click Export this store's reviews. In the new store, click Import from another store and upload that file.
What imported reviews look like
- They keep their rating, title, text, name, date and reply. Replies become your public replies.
- Their source is Imported, and they are never marked as verified buyers.
- Importing never emails reviewers.
- In files from other review apps or Sofcy, a status column, if there is one, is respected: pending reviews arrive pending, hidden or rejected ones arrive hidden, and the rest are published.
- Rows with no product become store reviews.
Limits and errors
- Up to 10,000 reviews and about 10 MB per file. Review text up to 5,000 characters, titles up to 255, names up to 100.
- An import is all or nothing. The first bad row stops it, and the message names the row and column, such as a product that is not in your store. Fix it and import again.
- Products must exist in your store and be synced. If you just added products, run Synchronize products in Product management first.
- Importing the same file twice is refused.
Import log
Reviews import log lists your last 20 imports with the date, source and file, how many reviews were in the file, how many imported, and the status.
