Product groups
If you sell the same item as several products, for example one per colour, its reviews end up split between them. A product group pools them, so every product in the group shows all the group's reviews and one shared rating.
Create a group
- Go to Settings › Product groups, or click Edit product review groups on the Reviews page.
- Click Create a static product group.
- Give it a Name, up to 50 characters, such as Classic hoodie.
- Click Add products and choose the products from Shopify's picker.
- Save.
A static group keeps exactly the products you chose. It does not change as you add products or edit their details. Each product can belong to one group, and you can add up to 100 products at a time.
Turn on sharing
Once you have a group, a Review sharing card appears. Tick Share reviews and ratings across grouped products and save. It is off by default.
With sharing on, each grouped product's Review widget, star rating badge, review count and average rating include the reviews of every product in its group.
Manage groups
The groups table shows each group's products, review count and rating. Use the ••• menu to Edit group or Delete group. Deleting a group does not delete any reviews: its products go back to showing only their own.
Group only products that really are the same thing. Pooling reviews of different products misleads shoppers.
